Frequently asked questions
Function, variants and ordering
How does the animated sunrise work?
10 minutes before your set wake-up time, the light begins to glow softly and slowly grows brighter, much like a natural sunrise. At wake-up time, a nature sound joins in, for example birdsong. So you start your day calmly and without a shock.
Do I need WiFi, Bluetooth or an app?
No. HORIZON works completely without a smartphone, WiFi or Bluetooth. You set it directly on the device and use it as a standalone alarm clock. So your bedroom stays free of digital distractions, notifications and wireless signals.
Does HORIZON also help you fall asleep?
Yes. With dimmable evening light and soothing nature sounds such as rain or ocean waves, it guides you into a calm evening. No screen light, no distraction, just a warm, calm ambience.
Which variants are available?
Limited Edition: in a marble look.
Classic: in Wood look or White. All variants combine design, function and wellbeing; the only difference is the look.
Can I try HORIZON risk-free?
Yes. You can try HORIZON at home for 30 nights at your leisure, with free shipping from our Swiss warehouse and a 2-year warranty. If it is not right for you, you can return it.
Side by side
5 criteria. Only one answer.
Smartphone alarm
- Blue light makes it harder to fall asleep
- Notifications create restlessness
- A shrill alarm jolts you out of sleep
- Scrolling keeps you awake longer
- A screen right before sleep
HORIZON
- Gentle sunrise simulation
- Natural, stress-free waking
- Nature sounds instead of a shrill alarm
- No smartphone in the bedroom
- A calm start to your day
What do you want: stimulation or your natural rhythm?
Sleeping badly? Your sleep ritual could be the reason.
Scrolling in the evening and reaching for your smartphone first thing in the morning throw your rhythm off. Screen light in the evening can make it harder to fall asleep and often keeps you awake longer than you would like.
HORIZON brings calm back to your bedroom.
With sunrise light, nature sounds and dimmable light, you make your evenings calmer and your mornings gentler, without a smartphone.

More about the HORIZON Limited Edition
HORIZON Limited Edition: wake-up light in a marble look
The HORIZON Limited Edition is the marble version of the wake-up light from the Swiss sleep brand LUMERIX. It wakes you with light and nature sounds instead of an alarm tone and works without a smartphone, WiFi or app.
What is a wake-up light and how does it work?
A wake-up light, also called a sunrise alarm clock, imitates a sunrise. The light slowly grows brighter 10 minutes before your wake-up time. At wake-up time, a nature sound begins, such as birdsong. So you wake up gradually, in summer and winter alike.
Is the Limited Edition a radiation-free wake-up light?
Many people search for a radiation-free wake-up light and mean a device without a wireless connection. The Limited Edition has no WiFi, no Bluetooth and no app. It sends no wireless signals, and you make all settings directly on the device. The Limited Edition has also been tested by Bureau Veritas to EN 62493, the standard for electromagnetic fields from lighting equipment: it stays so far below the limits that it is deemed compliant without measurement. Under EN 62471 its light is classified in the exempt group, with no blue light hazard. By replacing the smartphone next to your bed, it means less radiation in your bedroom.
Does it also help you fall asleep?
Yes. It has 20 nature sounds with a sleep timer of 30, 60 or 90 minutes, a night light with three levels and a display you can dim or switch off completely with the snooze button. So it also replaces your bedside lamp.
Design that belongs in the bedroom
The marble look makes the Limited Edition a calm object on your bedside table. Instead of a glowing smartphone or a technical-looking device, you have something that suits a thoughtfully designed bedroom.
Who is the Limited Edition for?
For anyone who wants to wake up without an alarm tone, banish the smartphone from the bedroom and values a device that looks right in the room. With the dual alarm, couples can set two independent wake-up times.
Limited Edition or Classic?
The Limited Edition comes in a marble look, HORIZON Classic in Wood look and White. Technology and features are the same; the difference is in the design.
