Wake-up light, daylight alarm clock or sunrise alarm: what is the difference?

There is none. All three terms describe an alarm clock that wakes you with light that slowly grows brighter, like a sunrise. Well-known manufacturers include Philips and Beurer. LUMERIX adds nature sounds, dimmable light for the evening and a design made for the bedroom. All LUMERIX wake-up lights work without Bluetooth, WiFi or an app.

How does a wake-up light work?

With the HORIZON wake-up light, the light begins to glow 10 minutes before your wake-up time and slowly grows brighter. Only at your set wake-up time do nature sounds such as rain, forest or ocean waves join in. So the light wakes you instead of an abrupt alarm tone. In the evening, the dimmable light works as a bedside lamp, and you can use the nature sounds with a timer to fall asleep.

Why a wake-up light instead of a smartphone?

Many people use their smartphone as an alarm clock and therefore keep it next to the bed at night. That brings messages, evening scrolling and the first look at the screen in the morning into the bedroom. A wake-up light takes over the job of the alarm clock, and your smartphone can stay in another room.

Is a wake-up light worth it in winter?

From autumn to spring, it is often still dark in Switzerland when the alarm rings. A wake-up light brings the morning light into your bedroom, even when the sun is not yet up outside. Especially in these months, the difference from an alarm tone in the dark is very noticeable.

And in summer?
